Recruiting the best employees in the beauty industry can be a challenging task, but with the right strategies, you can create a team of talented individuals who are passionate about their work, committed to your salon’s mission and become long standing employees. Here are some tips for hiring the best therapists for your beauty business.

1. Define your values and mission

To attract the best therapists, you need to have a clear set of values and mission that align with the interests of the person you want to attract into your business. Develop an inspiring company vision and an exciting culture. When you show your passion and commitment to your business, it’s easier to convince talented therapists to join your team.

2. Create a consistent hiring process

To attract the right therapist, you need to have a consistent hiring process in place. Develop a clear job description outlining the position’s responsibilities, qualifications, and requirements. Establish a timeline, schedule interviews, and follow up with candidates in a timely manner.

3. Utilise the right job platforms

There are so many job platforms out there, but they’re not always suitable. Utilise job platforms that specialise in the beauty industry, this will connect you with qualified individuals who already have experience in beauty. Post job listings on career sites like indeed, social media platforms, and you can even share to your own client base.

4. Look beyond the CV

While past work experience and qualifications are important if you want to take on someone that can get started on clients straight away, you should also pay attention to an individual’s personality and potential. Look for those who demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and have a genuine passion for the beauty industry. These attributes often lead to productive and happy employees, even if they need additional training.

5. Incentivise referrals

Your current team members are some of the best recruiters for a new person to join the team. Encourage them to share job openings with their network and offer incentives such as bonuses or gym memberships for referrals. This helps you attract high-quality applicants from people who already know and trust your business.

Hiring the best employees for your beauty industry takes time, effort, and the appropriate recruitment strategies. Start by defining your company’s values and mission, using the right job platforms to reach qualified therapists, and looking beyond the CV. With these tips, you can create a talented and dedicated team of beauty professionals who align with your business goals.
