The award-winning Scullion & Scot Artistic Team, made up of Jade Proctor, Gemma Scullion, Jessica Elwell and Lewis Inkles, represent the creative side of Scullion & Scot through shoots, shows, education, editorial work and industry events. Each brings their own strengths and creative identity while working collectively to push the salon creatively and build its presence within the wider hairdressing industry.

These are their hot picks for the client-favourite colours you’ll have on your mood board for autumn, comprising softer, richer colour that looks effortlessly natural.

The Sheffield salon, which has twice taken home one of the hair industry’s most respected accolades, is predicting a shift away from bright, high-contrast shades towards beautifully blended colour with depth and a luxurious finish. Instead of dramatic transformations, Autumn/Winter colour is set to focus on wearable shades that enhance natural beauty, from refined blondes and glossy brunettes to softer coppers and richer red tones.

These are the three standout shades Scullion & Scot expect to be trending in salon…

First of all, the biggest trend this Autumn is the way colour is created. The desire for lived-in colour continues to grow, with clients looking for bespoke blends that complement their natural colouring, lifestyle and personal style.

Hailey Bieber and Jennifer Aniston are the most requested client favourites as inspiration for this softer approach to colour, where subtle highlights, natural dimension and seamless blending create a polished but effortless finish.

Rather than harsh contrasts or obvious regrowth, the focus is on seamless colour placement, softer transitions and finishes that continue to look beautiful between salon visits.

Smoky Brunette

It’s all about richness and shine for brunettes this season, think deeper brunette shades with subtle tonal variation, reflecting the growing demand for glossy, expensive-looking colour.

Inspired by this movement, Smoky Brunette combines deep brunette shades with cool, smoky tones and the lightest hint of copper to give the hair warmth without losing its reflective finish.

This season’s brunette trend is less about one flat shade and more about expertly blended tones. Known as “expensive brunette”, the look focuses on a healthy, multi-dimensional colour that feels luxurious while remaining wearable.

Stone Blonde

Neutral blondes are having a moment, and this was the colour we created for our winning LCT look.

Stone Blonde is a cool, neutral blonde made up of several carefully blended shades rather than one block colour. The result is soft, natural-looking blonde hair with movement and dimension, showcasing softer, more natural blonde tones that feel polished without looking overdone.

Moving away from icy, high-maintenance blondes, this trend embraces beige, stone and muted tones that create a refined finish while allowing the hair to look healthy and natural.

Weathered Copper

An Autumn staple as reliable as pumpkin lattes, Copper is becoming much softer for 2026, so this season will see clients steering away from bright reds and vivid orange tones towards something more natural.

Weathered Copper introduces muted terracotta, auburn and golden tones to create a softer finish inspired by natural ginger hair. The result is a warmer, more understated take on copper that feels modern, flattering and perfectly suited to the autumn season.

The stunning Sadie Sink is your go-to celebrity to pin for this look.
