Creating really dark sets is one of my favourite looks with lash extensions. Applying Russian Volume – it’s easier to be able to do this look but you can make all your lash sets have that darker lash line even with classic lashes if you’re working in layers.
So how do you work in layers?
Our natural lashes normally have three lash layers. You will have a top lash line, most natural lashes falling in the middle lash line and then a lower lash line. Working with all three of these lash layers you will be able to create darker sets.
First tip on how to do this:
Your lengths need to match up. For example, if you’re applying 12mm on all the lash layers, they won’t have that perfect lash line as the top layer will be slightly longer than the middle and the bottom and the bottom layer will be shorter than the top layer. So, you need to apply different sizes on each layer.
For example:
Top layer – 11mm
Middle layer – 12mm
Bottom layer – 13mm
This way when the client opens their eyes, they will have a dark top line.
Second tip:
Tape up the lashes. If you use micropore to tape up the lashes, you will be able to see them a lot easier than not doing this. It also speeds up the process. See the video on how this is done.
