If you think waxing is a summer service, don’t! You could be missing out on both profit and the opportunity to increase regularity of client visits. Read on for Tracey’s top tips…
Although spring and summer are traditionally the biggest seasons for waxing, if you’ve got clients who are letting their waxing regime go out of the window in winter we’ve got some tips to get them back!
Run special offers
For some clients, it’s out of sight, out of mind, and when the big jumpers go on, the wax appointments are off. This is a great opportunity to run special offers on waxing appointments and to educate on why year-round wax appointments are more beneficial. Waxing is one of the best services to create loyalty and to upsell, it gets clients in frequently offering more opportunities to cross promote or upsell other services. It’s quick and has great profit margins so you can offer little freebies (free chin or eyebrow wax with a leg and underarm, or free underarm wax with a facial for example) without compromising your time or revenue.
Let your clients know that…
The more you have your waxing treatments, the finer and more slowly your hair will grow back. If you keep having your waxing treatments done regularly through the winter you will find that your hair will stay away for longer over the summer months.
Wax gives silky smooth skin and finer re-growth so going back to a razor means hair can re appear as quickly as the next day after shaving, not to mention the shadow you get under your arms if you shave your hair there. An underarm wax is such a quick treatment and the hair stays away for weeks.
As you get older, with consistent waxing the hair gives up the ghost and stops growing back – I am in my late 50s now and have about three hairs under each arm, and there are no prickly hairs or itchiness like you get from shaving. I find leg hair and winter tights is a particularly itchy combination!
Another fabulous bonus of winter waxing is beautiful, exfoliated skin. Strip wax takes with it a layer of dead skin, leaving your skin free of scaliness and dryness.
Skin needs extra protection from the sun after waxing, which isn’t really a consideration in winter.
We all know the feel good factor of freshly waxed skin, so why only enjoy that for half of the year!
We have vegetarian and vegan waxes, and coloured waxes including beautiful dark green and purples with sustainable glitter formulations to make the waxing experience more luxurious.
