Mental wellbeing should be top of mind for everyone, so checkout these top five tips for optimising your mental health.
Connect with others
Loneliness and isolation are big killers and hugely damaging to our mental health. Find ways to connect either in person or through facetime or zoom, set up group chats and take the time to reach out to friends and family on the phone. Staying connected in meaningful ways is essential to our mental health and wellbeing.
Physical activity
Getting some form of exercise each day will hugely improve your mental health and energy levels. Spending time in nature is fantastic but not available or possible for everyone so failing that there is free access to loads of online exercise videos you can complete daily on streaming services.
Never stop learning
Learning gives you a sense of self-worth and accomplishment that will support your mental fitness. Listening to books, writing, reading, learning a language, studying a subject you are passionate about. Just 10 minutes every day to enrich your knowledge will help.

Give and be kind
An act of kindness doesn’t help the person we are kind to but it helps us too. If all you have to give is a smile, then give that. Giving your time, your attention and your energy to help others can nourish us too.
Mindfulness
A moment or two of inner reflection and well-paced breathing is all we need to break the cycle of a chattering mind. Full on meditation is great but it’s not for everyone, just taking in your surroundings, paying attention to your breath and the sensations in your body counts, as you are being totally present.
