How to Maximise Black Friday for Your Salon Success

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are considered THE major shopping events of year. In fact, research has shown that over 55% of consumers plan to shop both in-store and online across this 4-day event.

As one of the most revenue-driving times of the year, Black Friday offers huge potential for attracting new customers, whilst reminding your existing clientele of your top-notch salon services.

If you’re stuck for ideas, fear not, the team here at Salon Gold have created 10 ways in which you can leverage Black Friday for sales success this November:

⦁ Gift guides

Put together a unique gift guide for your clients, within different categories divided by price point, colour or trend. For example, “Five nail polishes for £15”, “Three skincare products vital for winter” or “Four of the best shampoos for coloured hair”. Share these on each of your social channels, as well as sending them exclusively via email to your subscribers.

⦁ Hourly deals

Introduce hourly deals that your clients can really take advantage of. Reduce the prices on treatments that use a certain product or provide a discount on some of your top services. We advise to only do this only for the first or last few hours of the day.

In the days leading up to Black Friday, send an email highlighting these deals, and automate emails to send each hour that a deal is live. Be sure to let your clients know to opt-in to your email marketing list so they don’t miss out!

Everyone loves the idea of a mystery or surprise, so why not incorporate this into your Black Friday strategy? Send clients an email offering 10%, 20% or 50% off certain treatments or services. When they click on a call-to-action, you could take them to a landing page, showcasing exactly which service or treatment they

For example, get your followers to leave comments outlining why they should win, or detailing what they love most about your Salon.

During the Black Friday weekend, your website is likely to attract a lot of traffic, with existing clients and potential new ones browsing the web for deals. Take advantage of this by offering a Black Friday deal to new customers who sign up to your newsletter or subscribe to your emails.

Look back through your customer database for your most loyal and frequent clients, such as those who have turned up to appointments on time and who you have established a friendly rapport. Take the time to reward them with an exclusive Black Friday offer for an additional treatment during their next visit.

Black Friday is also a good time to entice old clientele who haven’t visited the salon or booked an appointment in a while. Use an engaging subject line for your email to target this specific audience and make it more personable.

Reward your clients with upgrades on basic treatments and packages to more premium ones. Get creative with these and hook your clients into more experiences they’ll enjoy and want to come back for again and again.

Create a “Use it when you want it” pass and allow people to claim these upgrades when they wish.

Use your social channels to reveal a couple of your Black Friday deals, then follow these up with an email containing more information.

If you’ve recently introduced a new service or rolled out a new product in your salon, Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to tell customers about something new whilst offering a discount to encourage a sale at the same time.

More consumers purchase gift cards than we think – especially with Christmas on the way. Take full advantage of this by offering clients an incentive when they buy a gift card from your salon. Either give them a percentage off their next service or match them with a gift card of a certain monetary value for every gift card they purchase.

⦁ Host an event

Why not turn one of the biggest shopping days of the year into an event to celebrate? Show your gratitude and appreciation by handing out drinks and food or little goodie bags to clients when they come into the salon.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are all about offering great deals to your clients. However, a great deal isn’t just about huge discounts.
