Beauty Salon Insurance by the industry experts

Beauty salons aren’t only about outer beauty – they’re born of a passion for making people feel good about themselves. However, all it takes is one mishap during a procedure for it to all go bottoms up. What if you accidentally burn a client’s skin with an IPL or laser? How do you handle a client seeking compensation?

Because we know that accidents are a part of life, we only offer a beauty salon policy that has full treatment liability cover as standard. This means, even if the worst does happen, you’ll be covered by your policy, so one accident doesn’t have to mean the end of your dream.

What is beauty salon insurance?

Beauty salon insurance is normally bought as a package containing a number of different insurance covers. At Salon Gold, our comprehensive packages help to protect your beauty salon business, no matter the situation. As standard, we offer cover for public liability, product liability, treatment risk, business interruption, stock, contents and legal expenses to name but a few; all of which are crucial covers for those in the beauty industry.

Public liability insurance is a cornerstone of any insurance policy, and protects you should your work activities cause injury or property damage to a third party. Considering you’ll be in contact with your customers at almost all times in your salon, public liability cover is a must-have. Meanwhile, product liability insurance covers you if a product you make or supply causes personal injury to a client, whereas treatment risk safeguards you financially if a treatment goes wrong. Other essential covers, included as standard are legal expenses, employers’ liability and cover for your stock, contents and glass at the salon.

You can also add four optional covers to your beauty salon policy:

Here at Salon Gold, our packages are tailored towards each individual client’s needs, allowing them to do what they do best without worrying one mistake will be the end of their business.

Beauty Salon Insurance FAQs

Why do you need beauty salon business insurance?

Insurance is essential for any beauty salon. What would you do if your salon was broken into and your equipment stolen? Or perhaps there was a fire at the salon and everything was destroyed and you were unable to trade?

Without the protection of specialist beauty salon insurance, you would need to replace your equipment and fund your loss of profits yourself. However, with a beauty salon insurance package, your insurer will be on hand to do this on your behalf, helping to keep you out of the woods financially.

Insurance protection is also vital if a member of the public or a customer sues you for causing them injury or property damage. The costs of this can run tens of thousands of pounds, which, without insurance, you’d need to pay yourself.

How much does beauty salon insurance cost?

The cost of your beauty salon insurance will depend on various factors, including how experienced you are, your claims history, how much cover you need and how secure your salon is.

When will my beauty salon insurance start?

Your salon is protected from the second you take out an insurance policy with Salon Gold. You don’t need to wait around for any documents as you’ll be covered instantly.

What is included in beauty salon insurance as standard?

A Salon Gold beauty salon insurance package includes public liability, product liability, treatment risk, stock, contents, glass, business interruption and legal expenses. Our policies provide all the covers you need as standard.  You can also add some optional covers to your policy if you would like cover for your buildings, teaching, personal accident or terrorism insurance.

How do I make a claim on my insurance policy?

If you think you need to make a claim on your insurance policy, get in contact with us right away. We will help you through the claims process and work with you to get a settlement. You can also visit our Make a Claim page to start the process.

"Will qualifications affect my insurance?"

Talking about qualifications when trying to buy insurance for your business can be a bit daunting, but it doesn’t have to be! Here at Salon Gold, we know that there is often a lot of uncertainty over what qualifications you’ll need to be covered, so we’ve compiled all the information you’ll need to know in this handy guide
