This year marks 100 successful years in business for two Brighouse based and family-run salons, Taylors & Co and Edward & Co.
The original family business was started by Edward Taylor in 1919 and has since grown significantly, providing training and employment to five generations of hairdressers during this time.
Today, Edward & Co is run by Gary and Heather Taylor, whose daughter Annabelle is employed as a stylist, while the original family salon, Taylors & Co, is owned by Jason Taylor.
Both salons pride themselves on offering on-trend styles at affordable prices, with a strong focus on customer care and service.
Alongside their traditional salon services, Edward & Co and Taylors & Co offer hair replacement pieces for clients who have experienced hair loss from cancer treatments, alopecia and illness.
Both Gary and Jason are award-winning stylists, with both brothers having won the title of World Men’s Hairdressing Champion in different years.
Gary won the title of North Western Hairdresser of the Year at HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards in both 2012 and 2015. Gary is also currently an Ambassador for Schwarzkopf Professional.
On the 6th April 2019, Edward & Co and Taylors & Co will celebrate their 100-year anniversary at the Brighouse Party Venue. Over 140 local residents have been invited for dinner, dancing and a night of reminiscing.
Jason Taylor of Taylors & Co, said: “There can’t be a family in Brighouse that hasn’t been through our doors at some point in the last century. Between us, we reckon we have delivered over 3 million haircuts, colours and restyles – and we’ve loved every minute of it.”
Gary of Edward & Co said: “The party is a chance for us to say thank you to Brighouse for supporting us since 1919; while also raising vital funds for two local charities that are very close to our hearts – Martins House for seriously ill children and the cancer ward at St James’ Hospital, Leeds.”
