What is treatment risk insurance?
Treatment risk insurance covers injuries or damage sustained through the performance of specified treatments but doesn’t include injury from slips and trips, which are covered by your public liability policy. It is an essential cover for anyone in the hair and beauty industry
Why do I need treatment risk insurance?
Regardless of how advanced the treatment you’re doing is, treatment risk insurance protects you from even a single slip, which could lead to cutting someone’s ear during a trim, or damaging a client’s nails. Even a minor allergic reaction to a colouring or tanning product you’ve used could lead to a massive compensation claim. In order to best protect your business, we would caution any hair and beauty professional, regardless of which treatments they’re carrying out on a day-to-day basis, to ensure they have treatment risk insurance in place.
How much is treatment risk insurance?
At Salon Gold, our experience has shown us that every health and beauty business is different, which means that your line of work is likely to need a different package of cover from another. As such, our insurance policies span a range of price brackets based on your individual needs, so get a quote online now to get a competitive quote tailored to your circumstances.
Will I automatically get treatment risk insurance with any Salon Gold insurance policy?
Yes! Every one of our policies includes treatment risk insurance as standard, however, it’s worth noting that if you have a Holistic Gold, Fitness Gold or Counselling Gold insurance policy, this cover will be replaced with malpractice insurance. To find out more about our malpractice insurance and what it covers, please visit our malpractice insurance page.
Does treatment risk insurance protect me from slips and trips?
Treatment risk insurance is for injuries or damage sustained through treatments only and it doesn’t include injury from slips and trips. They are, however, covered under public liability insurance, and this is included as standard with all our Salon Gold hair, beauty and salon insurance policies.
Do I really need treatment risk insurance if I’m only performing minor treatments (eg. cutting or colouring hair, giving manicures, doing spray tans, etc.)?
Yes, you do. Regardless of how advanced or otherwise the treatment you’re doing is, taking out a treatment risk insurance policy will provide peace of mind. All it takes is one slip for you to accidentally cut a person’s ear or damage a client’s nails, and even a minor allergic reaction to a colouring or tanning product you’ve used could lead to a massive compensation claim. In order to best protect your business, we would caution any hair and beauty professional, regardless of which treatments they’re carrying out on a day-to-day basis, to ensure they have treatment risk insurance in place.
What if I have more than one occupation?
When you’re filling out our online quote form, you’ll be able to select up to 3 occupations. If you need any more than 3 of these to cover all the work you do, that’s not a problem – contact us directly and we’ll be able to arrange the cover you need. It’s absolutely essential you ensure your treatment risk policy covers all the treatments you provide, to ensure there are no holes in your cover and that you’re completely protected.
