Malpractice insurance covers claims made for bodily injury and mental and psychological damage from both physical procedures and advice. The cover is provided on a “claims made” basis, meaning that you will have cover for all claims made whilst your policy is in force. (Read more about this in the next section).
Because of the type of professional services that you offer, it’s possible that a client may be unhappy with your work. They may have a grievance if they expected a result that was unrealistic or they might react badly to a treatment. If they have an existing problem that gets worse, they could blame you or a member of your staff for that. Whether or not you’re actually at fault, the right policy with full malpractice insurance cover will protect you and the business you’ve worked hard to build if the unexpected hits you.
Our cover will safeguard you whether you work from a salon, a clinic, from home, or on a mobile basis. It provides cover to work anywhere in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man. It also gives cover for temporary (up to 14 days) work abroad (excluding the USA and Canada).
A wide variety of therapies and treatments are included within the standard cover, and there are a number of optional therapies that you can add if you need them, at an additional cost.
Malpractice insurance is included automatically as part our Salon Gold insurance policy for holistic, health and fitness professionals. (For hairdressers and beauty therapists, treatment risk insurance is the cover that’s required and so that is provided instead).
