It’s likely that running a successful salon is your pride and joy, and that carries over to being passionate about making clients feel good about themselves. Prior to the grand opening of your salon, you probably spent a significant amount of time planning and designing its layout for maximum appeal, including your shopfront and window displays.
However, glass is all too easily smashed, and can lead to you falling victim to criminal and accidental damage, which is where glass cover insurance springs into action. With a Salon Gold insurance policy, you can relax knowing that, should an incident occur, your business will be protected.
What Do You Get With Glass Cover insurance?
Our glass cover includes:
- Standard cover for all salon insurance customers
- Unlimited cover for breakage of fixed glass
- £2,500 for damage to window displays and window/door frames
This cover is applied automatically for all salon insurance customers but is not available for our freelance or mobile customers
Glass cover insurance provides unlimited cover for any breakages to fixed glass at your salon’s premises, including the additional costs of boarding up any broken windows. The costs of repairing damage to the contents of your window displays or window and door frames is restricted to £2,500. There is an excess of £350 for any glass insurance claims.
Our insurance policies can be personalised to fit the unique needs of your business, ensuring that your livelihood will be fully protected after an incident. We understand that all salons are different, and all forms of cover we provide includes personal and public liability insurance to keep your reputation and bottom line safe. These particular policies provide financial protection against claims made if your business is deemed responsible for property or personal injury or damage made to clients or third parties.
Working in a salon may also require additional covers, which can be easily added to your Salon Gold policy, such as treatment risk cover, which protects you if a treatment like eyebrow tinting or body waxing goes wrong, or if a client suffers an allergic reaction to a product used. Accidents can happen unexpectedly so it’s best to be prepared for the worst case scenario by having the appropriate insurance in place.

Salon Glass Cover Insurance FAQs
Salon Glass Cover Insurance FAQs
Why do I need glass cover insurance?
Should your shop front have its glass windows broken due to an accident, or through criminal activity, it’s likely that replacing the panes will cost a significant amount of money, which you might not have at your disposal without risking your bottom line. This is where glass cover insurance is essential. While a smashed shopfront window won’t necessarily require you to temporarily close your salon, it will appear less inviting to potential customers passing by, so you’ll need to get them repaired as soon as possible. Salon Gold’s glass insurance allows you to make a claim and get replacement windows quickly.
Am I responsible for any glass breakages?
As a tenant of your salon’s premises, it’s likely to be your responsibility to replace any damaged windows. In the event of breakages, you should check if glass cover is already a part of the property owner’s insurance policy to see which damage and repairs you will be liable for.
Do you offer glass cover for mobile or freelance customers?
Most freelancers do not operate from a premises so will not have a need for glass cover. However, if you do rent a premises and are made responsible for the shopfront by your landlord, you will need a salon insurance package to ensure you are properly covered.
