The ‘human givens’ approach is an ‘organising idea’ – organising, and building on well-established theories, principles and what we know is effective in counselling. As a profession, Human Givens is relatively low risk but you do need to protect yourself and your business. In today’s world, people are increasingly ready to take legal proceedings for compensation and the incidence of claims against therapists is on the increase. The unexpected can and sometimes does happen and the price of our liability insurance cover is a tiny fraction of the likely cost of a claim.
