Cupping therapy is an ancient Chinese form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin; practitioners believe this mobilises blood flow in order to promote healing. Suction is created using heat (fire) or mechanical devices (hand or electrical pumps).

Cover for Cupping (excluding wet cupping) is provided as an optional additional treatment if you are a holistic therapist or homeopath. Just choose which profession you are when you get your quote and buy your insurance. If performed properly, Cupping is a very safe treatment and has gained popularity. However there is a small risk that blood clotting can occur and of general accidents. Furthermore, members of the public seem to be more and more likely to take legal action against therapists, this is a reflection of the increasingly litigious society we live in today.
