Comprehensive Insurance For Massage Therapists

The Ultimate In Relaxation

Massage therapy is one of history’s oldest healing methods, and can help treat a number of ailments. From Shiatsu to a deep tissue massage, each type provides unique benefits. However, there is always a chance that a treatment could go wrong. Although performing a massage is relatively low risk for professionals like you, it’s possible that it could have adverse effects on a client, or perhaps worsen a pre-existing condition.

If this were to happen, your client may take legal action against you, leaving you with expensive compensation to pay, something that could put your business at risk. Even if you do everything right at work, the only thing sure to keep you safe is a solid insurance policy. Here at Salon Gold, our dedicated massage insurance package ensures you have all of the protection you need. Whether you are a mobile or freelance massage therapist, or work from your own premises, you can carry on running your business in peace knowing that all of your assets are protected no matter what.

What’s included…

from £52.04* per year
* This price is for a £3m public, products and professional treatment risk liability cover (up to £5m available) and £10k financial loss cover for a sole trader. It includes insurance premium tax and our admin charge. ALL customers will pay this amount UNLESS they choose to take out additional optional covers or treatments which are priced separately.

What Do You Get With Our Massage Insurance?

Our massage cover is not a generic business insurance package — it has been specifically designed to provide you with protection that’s tailored to your needs. This is why you will automatically receive public liability cover, which insures you against claims related to third party injuries or property damage resulting from your business activities. However, this doesn’t include claims associated with your professional services, which is why we also give you professional treatment risk insurance which can offer this protection if something goes wrong during a massage. Products liability and financial loss insurance will also be part of your Salon Gold policy. Please note that the combination of covers you receive as standard will depend on whether you work from your own premises, or operate on a mobile or freelance basis.

As well as the automatic covers you get as standard, you can further strengthen your massage insurance by adding some optional covers. Again, these are determined by the nature of your business — for example, you may have premises you want to protect and therefore decide to take out buildings cover. Or perhaps you work on a mobile basis, and want to keep your massage table and oils safe, in which case our stock & equipment insurance is exactly what your business needs. See a full list of options below.

Whatever cover your work requires, Salon Gold has you covered. Join our community now to put together your perfect insurance package with a simple online quote now.

Massage Insurance FAQs

Do massage therapists need insurance?

Every company needs to safeguard its future with a comprehensive insurance package, and a massage business is no exception. It’s especially important when you consider the risks that come with providing massages, and if you accidentally injure a client, you would have to pay them a huge sum in compensation. There is a huge range of covers massage therapists need, and these will all be available as part of your massage insurance package.

How much is massage insurance?

The cost of massage insurance will vary depending on your individual circumstances and any optional covers you add. Typically, this starts at less than £55 per year, and includes public liability and treatment risk insurance. However, the best way to find out how much you’ll pay is to get a free quote from us by clicking on “Get a Quote” above.

Why is public liability insurance important for massage therapists?

Public liability is one of the most important covers a massage therapist can have, as it protects your company from any accidents you don’t see coming. This policy pays out for claims regarding personal injuries or property damage resulting from your business’s actions. For example, a client may trip over equipment you’ve left unattended and hurt themselves, or, if you are a mobile massage therapist working at a customer’s home, you could accidentally knock over a valuable possession and break it.

Claims like these can be very pricey, but public liability insurance means you won’t need to pay them yourself.
