Laser Hair Removal & IPL Insurance

Easy as 1, 2, 3 – Laser Hair Removal & IPL insurance quickly, with instant cover.

Comprehensive and affordable IPL and laser hair removal insurance

A form of permanent hair removal that has risen in popularity as it becomes more affordable, IPL (intense pulsating light) is a form of laser hair removal that uses light therapy to remove unwanted hairs from the treated area on the body. The laser beam passes through the skin to reach individual hair follicles, and its intense heat damages the hair follicle at the root, which inhibits further hair growth. IPL hair removal treatment is most effective for those with fair skin and dark hair, however there are new forms of laser hair removal treatments which have been developed to effectively work on darker-skinned clients.

As a beauty therapist who specialises in IPL and laser hair removal, you’ll already be aware of the risks associated with the treatment, such as skin irritation and pigment changes. Getting the light levels right is crucial, as an intensity that’s too high for the client’s skin tone can cause blistering, crusting, scarring, and even skin discolouration. If a client suffers from these side effects, they may choose to seek compensation from you, which could leave you liable to pay out thousands, running the risk of bankrupting your business.

Here at Salon Gold, we strive to protect your business with comprehensive and affordable insurance cover, allowing you to focus on giving your clients the best service possible, without worrying about running into any financial problems.

IPL and Laser Hair Removal Insurance FAQs

Can IPL and laser hair removal be offered as a mobile treatment?

Professionally-done laser hair removal requires a large machine which is powerful enough to administer the light intensity required to damage the hair follicle. While this can be done on a mobile basis, it’s more common to complete this in a salon to avoid transporting such a costly machine around.

What insurance do I need for IPL and laser hair removal?

Completing IPL or laser hair removal on a client requires at least public liability, products liability, and treatment risk cover. Public liability insurance is the most important, as it will protect you financially if a claim is made against you and your business regarding injury or damage to a client or their property. These claims can be very costly to settle, especially if your client suffers from any adverse side effects like blisters and pigment change, and it may leave you out of pocket if you don’t have the right insurance policy in place. Products liability insurance keeps you covered in the event a claim is made against the products you use or supply to your clients. Meanwhile, treatment risk cover protects you against any problems that are directly related to the IPL or laser hair removal treatment you complete. All of these insurance policies are offered as standard with our beauty insurance policies.

How much is IPL and laser hair removal insurance?

At Salon Gold, we offer IPL and laser hair removal insurance as part of our beauty insurance policies. The overall cost of your insurance policy will be wholly dependent on whether or not you want to include extra cover in your policy, as well as your experience working in the industry, and whether you’ve taken out a claim in the past. Work with our expert team to build an insurance package suited for you and your business, and that sits within your budget.
