What is HD Brows Treatment & what insurance covers do you need?

HD Brows is an eyebrow shaping process that involves a number of different stages.

The process starts with a consultation to ensure that the stylist and the client both agree which style of brow would suit the client’s face. This consultation also makes sure there the client has no allergies and there are other issues that need to be taken into consideration.

Once that’s been done, the eyebrows are shaped and tinted. The client should then receive aftercare advice so they know how to maintain their eyebrows once the process has been completed.

If you’re providing this treatment you’ll need HD brows insurance to protect yourself against the unexpected losses that can arise as a result of the risks that you’ll be facing. So what insurance covers do you need?

Property insurance

If you’re running a salon you’ll need property insurance to protect your property against losses due to accidental damage or theft. This includes insuring the salon building if you own the building rather than rent it as well as insuring the building’s fixtures and fixtures and any other contents such as your business equipment and stock.

Employer’s liability insurance

This is a legal requirement if you are employing anyone. It protects you if one of your employees makes a compensation claim against you. As well as covering any compensation awarded, the associated costs and expenses such as any legal fees incurred are also covered. Your insurer will also help you handle the claim so you wouldn’t have to worry about dealing with legal issues.

Public liability insurance

This type of liability insurance isn’t a legal requirement but as compensation claims can exceed £250,000 it wouldn’t be wise to operate without it. It is similar to employer’s liability insurance in the sense that it covers compensation claims, but it covers claims made by people who aren’t employed by you.

Public liability insurance cover extensions

A standard public liability insurance will only cover compensation claims that involve either an injury or property damage. Claims for purely economic losses are not covered. As such, you should ensure that your public liability insurance policy contains a financial loss extension.

Compensation claims arising out of professional acts are also excluded in a standard policy so you should ensure that your public liability insurance policy contains a treatment risk extension. This extension will cover you if a claim is made against you alleging that your provision of HD Brows treatment has resulted them being injured. A claim for facial scarring can cost £50,000 and possibly more if you’re required to pay for private cosmetic surgery for the claimant so this extension is essential.

Products liability insurance

Again, this type of insurance isn’t a legal requirement, but it’s sensible to have products liability insurance in view of the potential size of any compensation claim that might be made against you. It is similar to public liability insurance, but it covers claims arising from defects in products that you have sold or supplied rather than claims arising as a result of something that you have either done or failed to do.

Personal accident & sickness insurance

This type of insurance protects your income if you’re unable to earn because you’re off work due to an injury or an illness. It pays a weekly benefit while you’re unable to work. If you won’t be able to return to work it pays a lump sum instead.

Legal expenses insurance

Legal expenses insurance protects you if you become involved in a range of different types of legal action, including contractual disputes, criminal charges, tax and VAT inspections, and employment tribunals.

It covers your legal costs. Your legal expenses insurer will also help you deal with the legal action to ensure the best possible outcome.
