The brows are tinted, threaded, and waxed in order to create the perfectly defined brows worthy of Instagram.

As a beautician offering this specialist treatment, you’ll know that it can come with some risks, despite being relatively straightforward to carry out. Your client may suffer an allergic reaction to the tint or wax you use, or even any creams, oils, and gels used after waxing or threading. Because of this, it’s crucial that you have the right insurance policy in place to protect your business, and keep you safe from any claims that may arise.

Here at Salon Gold, we aim to protect businesses like yours with a comprehensive insurance policy, leaving you safe in the knowledge that you’re completely covered if an accident does unfortunately happen, letting you stay focused on giving your clients the best service.

HD Brows Insurance FAQs

Do you need a patch test for HD Brows?

As HD Brows requires the use of chemicals, like hair tint, it’s highly recommended that you complete a patch test before every treatment. This will allow you to check your client’s sensitivity to the hair tint, and must be completed at least 48 hours before the appointment, so you can assess any rashes or reactions to the tint. If there are any signs of a reaction, you shouldn’t go ahead with the treatment. However, if the client is fine, you can use a strip of wax to remove the patch from their arm during the treatment. It’s important to complete this test before every appointment, not just at the start of the course, as it is possible that your client may develop an allergy to the tint between treatments, which is usually around 6-8 weeks. While the likelihood of this happening is small, it’s always worth checking so you don’t cause a reaction.

What does HD Brows consist of?

HD Brows is a procedure which creates defined eyebrows through tinting, waxing, tweezing, threading, and make-up. It is made up of seven steps: consultation, tinting, waxing, trimming, threading, tweezing, and aftercare. The last of these includes a serum to boost hair growth in any sparse areas of your brow. It’s crucial that you offer your clients the correct aftercare advice, as any mistakes they make outside of your direct involvement can alter the results of the treatment.

What insurance do I need for HD Brows?

The treatments that make up HD Brows are all fairly straightforward for a beautician, despite the associated risks. However, it’s important to ensure that your insurance suitably covers you for the full HD Brows treatment. This includes having at least public liability, products liability, financial loss, and treatment risk cover in place. Public liability is the most important of these, as it covers you if a compensation claim is made against you and your business regarding the injury or damage to a client or property. These claims can be expensive to settle, often leading to financial instability if you don’t have the right insurance policy in place. Products liability insurance covers you in the event a claim is made against the products you use or supply to your client, which is crucial when using HD Brows products. You also need treatment risk cover to protect you against any problems that may arise as a direct result of the HD Brows treatment, whether this is an allergic reaction or the treatment itself having gone wrong. All of these covers are included as standard in our insurance policy.

How much is HD Brows insurance?

At Salon Gold, we offer HD Brows insurance as part of our wider range of beauty insurance cover. The overall cost of your policy will also be determined by any extra covers you may want to include in your insurance package. Your experience in the industry and claims history also has an affect on how much it will cost, so get in touch with our team to build an affordable insurance package tailored to your business.
