Honeycomb Cut Crease: Our New Favourite Eye Make-Up Look That’s Perfect For Spring

Looking for a sugary sweet make-up look to practice ready for spring? We’ve got the perfect new technique that just so happens to be sweeping Instagram as one of the hottest new trends for the season.  Honeycomb cut crease eye make-up is the newest Insta-trend to hit the make-up world and MUA’s and amateurs alike are simply loving it.

When we’re talking about a cut crease, we mean one of the biggest make-up trends to happen in the history of make-up trends. Seriously. It’s the ultimate cool-girl style and gives your eye make-up a boost into professional standards. Add in a honeycomb palette, a dash of shimmer and you’re bound to look effortlessly chic.

How to cut crease

It’s not the easiest technique to master, but it’s well worth the extra effort and time spent grasping the look. Firstly, start with an eyelid primer to make sure, after your efforts, the make-up lasts as long as possible. Secondly, take your favourite palette and sweep a deep, warm brown across the top of the lid, blending into the crease of the eyelid and heading up towards the brow bone.

When you’ve blended to perfection, take an angled lid brush and your fave concealer and apply on the whole lid, up to the crease, creating a neat line and sweeping out into an exaggerated wing shape. On top of your concealer, you want to add a light eyeshadow across the whole of the lid and emphasise the line between the light concealer and the dark shadow beneath.

For this look, you’re going to want to invest in a gold liquid liner and create a double wing, starting from the inner eye, sweeping across the lid and flicking out into an open wing at the edge. This gold liquid is your sweetly honeycomb finish to your cut crease. Depending on how heavily you like to apply your make-up, you can add a thick lick of black liner across the lash line to complete the look. It’s the perfect blend of springtime fresh and dolled up for the season.

For a simpler version of the look, take lighter hues to the lid when applying the eyeshadow and opt for one simple cut crease with your liquid liner. This creates a more defined finish and still hits the mark with the trend.

When it comes to the honeycomb cut crease style, you can still create a similar vibe without the gold liner cuts. Concentrate on creating a bold and sharp cut crease using deep browns and then exaggerate the lid using a generous helping of shimmering copper shadows to build up the colour and give it a solid finish.

This is the ideal springtime eye make-up look to take you from warmer, sunny afternoons with a cocktail to full, all-out evening glam. Pair it with a strip of statement lashes and you’re ready to go.
