Christmas is almost here and it truly t’is the season to be jolly! But this year, instead of just yelling our lungs out to Mariah’s Christmas classic with a glass of wine in hand, we’ll be channelling at least some of our focus on getting creative with our nail designs this festive period (whilst still singing of course – because we can’t let “All I Want For Christmas” come on the radio and not sing – out of tune – along!)

As you can expect, there have been a slew of creative and festive nail designs surfacing across the Insta-sphere the past few weeks – so we’ve done our best to compile our top picks for this holiday season. From rich Burgundy shades to lush winter whites that will sparkle in the winter sun, take a look below to find your perfect nail design for that kiss underneath the mistletoe!

Candy cane nails

First up is delicious candy cane nails – unfortunately inedible, they’ll still look cute for any Christmas parties you have coming up. Simply using a plain base for the nails, stripes are applied carefully across diagonally, giving that characteristic stripe of our favourite Christmas treat! Experiment with different festive colours to create any candy cane colour combination imaginable.

Christmas wrapping paper nails

The Christmas process which is either love or hate – present wrapping. Featuring on this next set of nails, these cute designs can draw inspiration from any wrapping paper you see fit! The ones here feature the key season colours, with added bows on one nail for that extra special touch.

3D festive nails

These gorgeous 3D nails are just what we want for Christmas. Perfectly highlighted with subtle, yet festive, colours are brought to life with glitter and intricate pieces. This is a classy nail design worthy of the most prestigious Christmas gatherings!

Tinsel effect nails

Tinsel is any staple for Christmas decor, so why leave it out of our Christmas get-up? Using icy whites and silver, this nail artist has cleverly incorporated tinsel onto the nails, and sealed with a shiny overcoat to make them sparkle that much more – we love it!

Grinch nails

A classic Christmas tale – The Grinch – has been perfectly adapted into a quirky yet classy nail design from this artist. With a feature nail of the Grinch and accompany nails glazed icy white as a subtle reference to the Whos (the inhabitants of Whoville – from whom the Grinch stole Christmas), it makes for a cute and imaginative nail design that we think is right on point for the Christmas festivities.

Rudolph nails

Rudolph, won’t you slay my nail design tonight? Dubbed the ‘Rudolph and presents’ design, this nail design incorporates a feature Rudolph on one nail, and uses glitter and 3D designs on the others, which really brings the design to life. Using different designs on each nail gives reference to Santa and his friendly reindeers and we can’t be more in love! You’ll definitely be stealing glances with these nails.
