Celebrity make-up lines are coming out in the beauty world thick and fast. Where product launches like this might have previously been seen as a gimmick and make-money-quick scheme, these make-up and beauty lines are actually the real deal.
High quality, well-made and beautiful packaging are just some of the key reasons people are being swayed away from their regular make-up picks to trial a product hawked by our favourite famous faces. From beauty business billionaire-to-be Kylie Jenner, to our favourite pop princess, Rihanna; we are now inundated by make-up lines and are struggling to choose.
This week, we take a look at some of this year’s current favourite lines.
She’s only 20 years old and she sits proudly at the number 1 spot for the best celebrity make-up line of this year (and previous years). Kylie and her team have ingeniously tapped into a market of consumers who cannot get enough of her funky eyeshadow colours, monochrome packaging and incredibly famous lip kits.
Having collaborated now with almost every member of her famous family, Kylie Cosmetics has just launched their most recent collab, aptly named Momager, with Kris Jenner. The collection consists of eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks and blush with Kris Jenner imagery and phrasing to please every ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ fan.
Creator and founder of Fenty Beauty, Rihanna has created an inclusive beauty brand that aims to serve every type of make-up wearer. This launch had a heap of hype behind it and as it turns out, it was well worth the frenzied anticipation.
With dew-inducing highlight, super-pigmented eyeshadow shades (with fabulous names to boot) and shimmering skinsticks to do a multitude of jobs, the collection is inspired, well-made and fun. Bravo RiRi.
Following hot on the heels of her little sister, Kim Kardashian has also launched her own beauty line, named KKW Beauty. One of the hottest make-up lines this year so far, Kim has focused on skin and contouring throughout many of her products within the collection.
The line features contour and highlight sticks, making it easier to recreate her famous facial curves and her iconic conceal, bake, brighten three-step concealer routine, aiming to brighten and perfect the undereye.
It’s been highly anticipated and the make-up collaboration between Jennifer Lopez and Polish brand, Inglot, has been tearing up Instagram since it’s official launch in April. It’s the perfect summer collection consisting of 70 products (that’s right!) of golds, nudes and bronze, aiming to recreate the singer’s famous glow.
Ms Lopez has stated that she wanted to achieve high-end, fantastically made products, without the high price point and we’re already loving her selection.
Incredibly popular and successful, Miranda Kerr has created the beauty brand, KORA. Serving up cruelty-free, organic skincare and cosmetics, KORA is becoming the go-to brand for guilt-free beauty products.
The collection is fairly simple in nature, featuring items like replenishing facial oils, cleansers and moisturisers and face masks. The perfect complement to your celebrity-approved make-up set.
Last, but by no means least, it’s one of our own. Though she may be a former Spice Girls member, Victoria Beckham has been really stepping into her own since her departure. And since she now has her own clothing line, it wouldn’t really make sense if she hadn’t done a make-up line to go alongside it – which she has.
Collaborating with Estee Lauder, Beckham’s line including matte nude lipsticks, smoky eyeliners and glittery eyeshadows. But her standout product had to be the Morning Aura Illuminate Cream; perfect for giving your skin that coveted Beckham glow à la Posh.
Whether you jumped straight onto the celebrity make-up line bandwagon or you’ve been quietly watching from afar, it’s difficult to deny the success that these big names have had so far, this year. With shining reviews and worldwide consumers, queuing round the block to get their hands on every new goody, these celebs are dominating the make-up market right now and we for one, want to try absolutely everything.
