Common Questions About Salon Gold Insurance Policies

Over the years we’ve been asked a lot of questions about the insurance policies and cover we provide. Many of the questions are similar or relate to the same aspects of your business.

So, we’ve put together this fairly short FAQ, which we hope will save you time and answer some, if not all, of the questions you may have.

Here’s a sample of the questions we get asked most frequently about Salon Gold Insurance policies.

What happens if my shop window is broken late at night?

Your policy provides access to a 24 hour glass and glazing helpline. Please call the number provided in your policy wording and a glazier will be sent to your premises to board up or replace the glass.

Do I pay interest on my monthly direct debit payments?

There is no interest on your Salon Gold direct debit payments in the first year.

Is there insurance that can help if one of my stylists left my salon and broke her contract of employment by working on a mobile basis and taking my clients or opening a salon down the road from me?

Yes, the Salon Gold Legal Expenses policy would protect you against paying expensive legal fees to stop the stylist doing this. It costs only £75 per year. (The Salon Gold Legal Helpline would give you any advice you may need with the wording of your employment contracts).

Would I have to pay an excess on a claim if a hairdressing or beauty treatment went wrong?

No, there is no excess for this type of claim under the Salon Gold Policy.

If I change the treatments I provide, do I need to tell you?

Yes, this is a material fact and you should advise us straight away.

Are you authorised by the Financial Services Authority?

Yes, you will see that we have the FSA logo in our footer and, as part of Henry Seymour & Co, we are regulated by the FSA, with a registration number of 303965.

If I work away from my salon, does my Salon Gold policy insure me?

Yes, provided that you have advised us that you carry out work away from your salon and that this does not generate more that half of your turnover. The Salon Gold policy extends to covering you for exhibitions and for your stock and contents in transit subject to certain security requirements.
